Welcome to the Emil Berliner Studios.
Our name recalls that of our founder, Emil Berliner, the inventor of the gramophone and gramophone record. As such, it represents one of the most famous recording studios for acoustic music.
As Deutsche Grammophon’s recording studio we were responsible for countless benchmark recordings over a period of several decades. Since 2008 we have been an independent production studio for sound, images and digital media. Our premises are within walking distance of Berlin’s Potsdamer Platz.
Past and present
It is something of a commonplace to say that tradition imposes obligations and responsibilities, but for us this is a daily reality. In a hotly contested market swamped by poor-quality products, we set store by the highest standards, including efficiency and reliability, so that as artists and producers you can feel that your product is in good hands and can look forward to the end result.
What we do
High-quality recordings of acoustic music are our strong point. We have our own recording studios as well as extensive mobile technology that can be deployed anywhere, as can our sound engineers, who have wide experience of countless halls, studios, opera houses and churches throughout the entire world.
Thanks to their no-expense-spared construction and technical provisions, our studios offer the best possible conditions for every aspect of postproduction, including editing, mixing and the remastering of old recordings. We also make it our business to check the quality of recordings produced elsewhere. And, last but not least, we are one of the few studios to cut vinyl records, which we do to the very highest standards.
